19 February 2010: Professors Jim Steenburgh (Atmos Science) and Tom Painter (SOL/Geography) will present 'Dirty Little Secrets of the Greatest Snow on Earth' in Alta, UT, on Friday 19 February, 2010, 6-8pm.  The show will be at Our Lady of the Snows and will include a raffle.  We will examine the real reasons why Utah powder skiing is incredible and evaluate the threats posed to Utah snow by climate change, and deposition of dust and pollution.

13 January 2010: The new International Classification for Seasonal Snow on the Ground has been released by the United Nations Educational , Scientific, and Cultural Organization. Our collaborators Richard Armstrong (NSIDC) and Ethan Greene (Colorado Avalanche Information Center) were central contributors.
